Day 1 - 5th Oct | 11:05 - 11:45

Location: Sustainable Communities Theatre

People & Purpose

Overview

Organizations become stronger by being diverse. How do we teach our teams to respect and support each other? This panel will explore how we all win from building inclusive cultures.

Learnings

  • Society level – Is there a support structure in Hong Kong to ensure that all Hong Kongers thrive as individuals, professionals and citizens?
  • Company level – Are companies in Hong Kong living up to their promises and ambitions? How do we make diversity and non-discrimination policies come to life? How do we build cultures where employees feel a true sense of belonging?
  • Individual level – What is our personal responsibility? How do we become aware of unconscious bias, and how can we be better allies to people who are different from us?

Post Event Actions

  • Reflect on your own unconscious bias.
  • Observe your workplace and identify areas where more support is needed for under-represented groups.
  • Become an ally to people lacking traditional privileges or who don’t fit into traditional norms.
