Accelerating Business Transformation Towards the New Mobility Paradigm – Financing Solutions and Barriers

Day 1 - 5th Oct | 15:00 - 15:50

Location: Sustainable Partnership Theatre

Cities & Mobility

Overview

Despite growing policy support for accelerating low-carbon transportation and fleet electrification in Hong Kong, numerous barriers and risks continue to impede progress at meaningful scale. Some of these barriers are technological in nature, such as the suitability of battery range to fleets’ duty cycles. Others relate to the financing of electrification projects, such as concerns on ownership costs and residual value.

Getting to scale will therefore require entirely new approaches. In this session, speakers will share innovations in business models and financial strategies that are key to de-risking adoption and unlocking needed levels of deployment growth.

Learnings

  • Why transformation of business models and the value chain is key to unlocking deployment growth towards low-carbon mobility in Hong Kong
  • How decision makers can best address barriers and risks of transformation, and unleash private market capital at the scale and speed needed

Post Event Actions

  • Gain insights on current challenges and approaches that are being adopted to transform business models, such as the internalisation of external costs of carbon.
  • Rethink how your company and industry can support the acceleration of fleet electrification and Hong Kong’s low-carbon mobility ambitions.
