Overview
Led by Civic Exchange, this project is the third of a series of reports part of a research initiative on green buildings, and represents a collaboration between HK2050 is Now, the Greater Bay Area Green Finance Alliance and Hong Kong Green Finance Association. The report will examine four cities in the Mainland China – Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan and Zhuhai – with the aim of reviewing data availability, existing policies, challenges and obstacles for building emissions reduction, and to provide suggestions from perspectives of government policy, corporate action and financial tools.

Karina Chow is a Research Analyst at Civic Exchange, focusing on the decarbonization of the building sector and the Greater Bay Area. Her interest lies in public policy and hopes to address Hong Kong’s environmental problems through research-based, impactful policies. Karina holds a BSc in Environmental Management and Technology from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
