The Research Centre for Resources Engineering towards Carbon Neutrality (RCRE) aims to be a Centre of Excellence in research focused on recycling waste materials to facilitate the achievement of carbon neutrality.

Our sustainability goals for 2025:

1.  Develop carbon capture technologies through waste mineralisation;
2. Valorise waste types that are of strategic importance to Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area;
3. Develop interdisciplinary research to propose practical strategies to help the HKSAR Government to implement policies for carbon neutral cities and circular economy.
