Isaac Ma is a distinguished leader with over 20 years of expertise in global material supply chains, recognized for his transformative contributions to sustainability in the consumer goods industry. Since 2020, Isaac has dedicated his career to advancing sustainable materials, forging a strategic partnership with Switzerland-based Tide Ocean SA to deliver innovative, recycled ocean-bound plastic solutions under the #tide ocean material® brand. His work has empowered globally renowned brands to integrate high-quality, eco-friendly materials into their products, driving measurable environmental impact while maintaining commercial viability.
In 2023, Isaac founded weplastic, a Hong Kong-based initiative focused on tackling the region’s plastic waste crisis. Leveraging his deep experience in supply chain management and ocean-bound plastic recycling, weplastic transforms locally collected waste into sustainable materials for consumer goods, fostering a circular economy and promoting responsible consumption. Through community engagement, ethical sourcing, and innovative upcycling processes, Isaac’s vision is to reduce Hong Kong’s plastic pollution footprint while inspiring systemic change across industries.

My Sustainability Goals for 2025:
1. Increased plastic recycling rates:
Isaac Ma aims to significantly boost Hong Kong’s plastic recycling rate, which currently lags due to heavy reliance on landfilling. By leveraging innovative technologies like those used by #tide and weplastic, he seeks to establish efficient recycling infrastructure, targeting to transforming waste into valuable materials for a circular economy.
2. Widespread adoption of sustainable materials:
ISAAC Ma envisions Hong Kong’s consumer goods sector embracing sustainable materials, such as recycled ocean-bound plastics, across industries like packaging, fashion, and electronics. Through weplastic and collaborations with global brands, Isaac hopes to drive systemic change, reducing plastic waste through recycling and promoting eco-friendly alternatives.
3. Enhanced community engagement and education:
Isaac is committed to fostering public trust and awareness about sustainable practices. He hopes to see robust community-driven initiatives, such as beach clean-ups and educational campaigns, supported by partnerships with different stakeholders to empower public and businesses to actively combat plastic waste issue.
