Breer

Booth SU12

Waste is not waste until you waste it – Breer is a food upcycling startup that collects otherwise unsold, uneaten, surplus resources, and monetizes it by using it to brew local craft beer. Breer was born out of the mutual passion to alleviate if not erase food wastage, illustrating the ease with which one can make a sustainable choice. You don’t need to change your consumption habits – you simply need to opt for the option that makes a difference, with every, single, sip.

Our sustainability goals for 2022:

We follow the Sustainable Development Goals frameworks, namely SDG#12, sustainable production and consumption, and SDG#13, Climate Action. Breer focuses on Target 12.3, halving per capita global food waste at retail and consumer levels, and reducing food losses along production and supply chains. With this, Breer executes SDG#13, contributing to climate preservation. We aim to contribute to food preservation & promote sustainable drinking, filling market gaps and contributing positively to climate change and HK’s carbon footprint by reducing 1 tonne of CO2 emissions, preserving 4 km of landfill space, and reducing 9.2 tonnes of bread wastage.
