Kevin O’Brien is the Chief Executive of Gammon Construction. He has over 30 years’ extensive management experience in the construction and engineering industry covering both the private and public sectors.  He is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors. He is the Chairman of the Business Environment Council.

Clement Cheung is an environmental professional specializing in multi-stakeholder engagement and impact initiatives to promote sustainability in business operations. His work focuses on fostering collaboration among businesses, policy makers, and communities to achieve shared sustainability goals. In his role in Business Environment Council, Clement is leading the research study in the Hong Kong Sustainable Aviation Fuel Coalition. Clement also has experience working in the higher education sector, specifically in educational administration and environmental education within a university setting. Clement is a Well AP.

A Chartered Construction Manager, Engineer, Project Manager, and Surveyor by profession, Ir Prof. Chan has worked in a number of tertiary institutions both in Hong Kong and overseas. He was a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of the School of Building and Planning at the University of South Australia. Ir Prof. Chan joined the Department of Building and Real Estate of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1996 and was Associate Head (Teaching) from 2005 to 2011; Associate Dean and Interim Dean of the Faculty of Construction and Environment from 2011 to 2013, and from 2013 to 2014 respectively. He was Head of Department of Building and Real Estate from 2015 to 2021 and is currently Dean of Students, Associate Director of Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development, Able Endowed Professor in Construction Health and Safety, Chair Professor of Construction Engineering and Management, and Chief Warden of PolyU Students Halls of Residence.

Mr. Sam CHAN has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry. Before joining the Construction Industry Council (CIC) in 2018, Mr. CHAN was the Technical Director and Authorized Signatory of an Registered General Building Contractor specialized in repair and maintenance, Alteration and Addition (A&A) and fitting-out works. Mr. CHAN joined the Construction Innovation and Technology Fund (CITF) Department of the CIC in 2018 to administer the operation of the $2.2B fund aimed at encouraging wider adoption of innovative construction methods and new technologies in the construction industry and building up the capacity of industry practitioners and tertiary students of construction-related disciplines to build an innovative culture and mind-set.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

The construction industry is a major contributor in achieving the target of net-zero. One of key initiatives under the CITF is promoting the use of more energy efficient and environmentally friendly construction equipment or methods such as zero-emission construction plants which can improve the environmental performance in the construction process.

Ir Joe Chow is a Chartered Engineer at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Energy Institute with more than 15 years of experience in sustainable engineering and facilities management.

Currently, Joe is the Asia Head of Energy and Sustainability at City Facilities Management (HKG) Limited. He is responsible for managing a wide range of energy saving projects and sustainability activities for the partners covering 5,000+ retail stores in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Malaysia.

Joe is serving various public duties including the Vice President of the IFMA Hong Chapter and the Immediate Past President of the ASHRAE Hong Kong Chapter

Sophia Wong is the Head of Communications and Sustainability at Champion REIT, a leading real estate investment trust in Hong Kong. She is responsible for leading Champion REIT’s internal and external communications, including sustainability, community engagement and branding, with over 20 years of experience in the field.

Sophia has been instrumental in devising Champion REIT’s sustainability strategy, including the establishment of 2030 ESG targets in alignment of SDGs of United Nations. Over the years, she has developed a strong passion in sustainability especially green and wellness initiatives. These efforts have led to several top honours of the Trust, including Hong Kong Sustainability Grand Award from The Hong Kong Management Association, the first-in-Hong Kong Triple Platinum certifications for existing building and the award-winning Love・Play・Farm project at Langham Place.

Katie works on BEC’s Policy & Research team where she contributes to the development of policy positions on Hong Kong’s existing and emerging environmental challenges and drives the delivery of impactful projects to embed sustainability into business strategy and the city’s broader climate transition. Katie currently leads the team’s nature-related work to narrow the gap between business and nature, incorporate biodiversity considerations into local policy and business decision-making, and supports other sectoral decarbonisation initiatives, such as the aviation sector through sustainable aviation fuel.
Prior to working in Hong Kong, Katie worked in the UK to deliver analysis and thought leadership to impact investors and sustainability-minded corporates on climate change policy, the blue economy, biodiversity and nature conservation. Katie is a Geography graduate of King’s College London.

Simeon Cheng is the Group Director of sustainability of Vitasoy International Holdings Limited. He is a sustainability professional with 30 years of experience leading the development of sustainability strategies and overseeing implementation in consultancy and corporate environments.

Before joining Vitasoy, he served in environmental and sustainability leadership roles at the MTR Corporation and CLP Holdings Limited. He has also served in many external roles including being a board member on GRI’s Global Sustainability Standards Board between 2015/2016.

Simeon holds a Fellowship in Chemical Engineering with the Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK, a Fellowship with the Hong Kong Institute of Environmental Impact Assessment, and degrees in business administration and law.

Dr. David Gallacher is an environmental specialist with AECOM and has worked across the Asia region, primarily based in Hong Kong but also spending time in Shanghai, Delhi and Singapore. He has an academic background in ecology and environmental management and possesses experience in a wide range of project types, including environmental planning, impact assessment and monitoring, nature-based solution design, sustainable urban planning , water-sensitive urban design and ESG Reporting. David is currently the chairperson of the Hong Kong Institute of Environmental Impact Assessment and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals.

Melanie is the Assistant General Manager (Sustainability) and the Head of Sustainability of Sino Group. She oversees a range of sustainability projects related to ESG. Being a specialist in the realm of Sustainable Development for nearly 20 years, Melanie has also gained extensive experiences in Sustainable Tourism and Stakeholder Engagement.
Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Management from the Imperial College London, a Master Degree of Science in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Master Degree in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge. She is also a certified Sustainable Tourism Professional by Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
Melanie is serving various public duties, including the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC)’s Environment & Sustainability Committee, a member of the Publicity Working Group of Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC), a sub-committee member on Youth and Capacity Building of the Environment and Ecology Bureau, HKSAR Government and a member of the Advisory Committee on Recycling Fund (RFAC) of the Environment and Ecology Bureau, HKSAR Government.

Sophia Zhu is an accomplished executive with over 20 years of experience in strategic governance, environmental sustainability, and organisational growth. As the Special Advisor of Development and Strategy at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG), she leverages her expertise to advance conservation efforts, drive innovative approaches to protecting biodiversity, and work with corporations to integrate these principles into their business strategies.

With a passion for integrating science, art, and philosophy, Sophia brings a holistic perspective to understanding and safeguarding our natural world. Her experience spans both the corporate and non-profit sectors, allowing her to bridge the gap between business imperatives and environmental stewardship.

Previously, as Managing Director and Head of Compliance Testing APAC at Citigroup, Sophia built and led a regional compliance team, introduced climate risk management frameworks, and spearheaded transformative organizational changes. Her work in the financial sector provides valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities businesses face in adopting sustainable practices.

Sophia also serves as a Trustee at the Croucher Foundation, where she has led governance reforms and provided strategic direction. Her expertise in trust-based philanthropy and stakeholder engagement has been instrumental in fostering collaboration and driving impactful change.

At KFBG, Sophia combines her strategic planning skills, environmental knowledge, and leadership experience to further the organization’s mission of nature conservation and sustainable living. She bridges corporate sustainability goals with practical conservation efforts, enhancing the impact of KFBG’s initiatives.

Corporations start to engage in proactive biodiversity enhancement and habitat restoration work.

Benny Siu, Head of Safety, Sustainability and Quality Assurance of Hactl, works with different stakeholders in the aviation supply chain on safety, sustainability, quality and risk management. Benny is also a Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Safety Practitioner.

Hactl is one of the world’s leading air cargo terminal operators, providing services to over 100 airlines and 1000 freighter forwarders. Launched in 1976 to consolidate and streamline all air cargo handling in Hong Kong, Hactl has played a major role in the establishment of Hong Kong as the definitive air cargo logistics hub for Southern China and Asia.

My Sustainability Goals for 2023:

Driving a more sustainable air cargo industry.

Introduction:
Joseph is a chartered mechanical engineer with more than 29 years’ experience in design, implementation and life cycle asset management of airport infrastructure and airport systems. He joined the Airport Authority during the planning and construction stage of HKIA in 1994.

Being a key member in the engineering and technology development of the airport infrastructure and systems from planning, design to operation and maintenance. He successfully implemented a number of critical projects to upgrade E&M systems and airport special systems. Including the Automated People Mover (APM) System, Baggage Handling System (BHS), chiller system, seawater supply system, modernization of escalators, aircraft loading bridges and enabling of 5G network of HKIA.

Experience:
In airport sustainable and innovation development, Joseph directs the engineering team for the strategic project namely Airport City Link. The project remarks the first public Autonomous Vehicles (A) transportation in Hong Kong with Vehicle to Everything (V2X) technology to realise Fleet Orchestration concepts in Airport Operations implementation.

He implemented high speed BHS to match the extended terminal footprint, airport specific Airfield Ground Lighting LED technology, modern security system involving access control, CCTV, electronic systems, etc. He also realized innovative energy saving projects with application of airport data and weather to reduce energy cost on chiller system. He also planned full solution for electrical vehicles and concept trial on hydrogen tractors in the airport.

Community:
Joseph act as the Chairman of the Airport Authority Staff Club Committee, it serves to connect 2,500+ AA staff members and enhance their well-being through organising recreational activities.
In engineering field, he serves as International Professional Review Interviewer of Institution of Mechanical Engineers and members Engineering Alumni Association of The University of Hong Kong.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

1. To raise awareness through the HKIA Renewable Diesel Pilot on the immediate benefits of Renewable Diesel as a low carbon, drop-in fuel that can be used in vehicles and equipment. This may lead to an increase in Renewable Diesel demand in HK and the provision of an affordable and stable supply to many HK users who wish to decrease transportation emissions.

2. To support the trial of low-carbon alternate technologies and fuels, AAHK will pilot the use of hydrogen–powered cargo tractors within HKIA – this pilot will also support the government’s overarching goals for hydrogen application in HK.

Mary Ng is a seasoned international banking executive with more than 18 years’ experience in the financial services industry. As ANZ’s Head of Supply Chain Finance for North Asia she is focused on supporting the growth of institutional customers moving trade and capital across the region. As her customers increasingly prioritize their transition to net-zero, Mary has played an instrumental role in supporting these goals by incorporating sustainability measures into supply chain finance solutions.

Mary also serves as Co-Chair of ANZ’s Thrive committee, which aims to promote diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being within the organization. Her leadership in this area further underscores her commitment to creating a more equitable and supportive work environment.

Stephen brings over 10 years of commercial and operation experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as the Head of Marketing and Business Development for Fleet Solutions at Shell Hong Kong Limited, he plays a key role in driving strategic initiatives and fostering low carbon energy solutions, such as the recent renewable diesel (HVO) pilot projects with Morden Terminals, AAHK and HACTL. Stephen holds an MBA from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is an adviser of the Mobility and Logistics Advisory Group for Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation. He is committed to helping clients and partners decarbonize through the use of cleaner energy and innovative technologies.

Mr. Jackson Yip is the CEO & Co-Founder of EC Innovation Limited, dedicated to entrepreneurship after graduating from HKUST Business School in 2023. With the support of chemistry professionals, Jackson is leading the commercialization of a breakthrough electrocatalytic technology into EC Innovation’s flagship product, “EC Flow System”, which converts agricultural wastewater into nutrient solution. With the vision of creating a perpetual planting ecosystem around the globe, Jackson is engaging with government, private institutions, NGOs, and farm owners to accomplish this aspiration in various agricultural sites.

Natasha is an experienced business leader with a passion for sustainability. She has held leadership positions at JLL and KPMG for the last decade, primarily in change management space, driving business critical transformation at a regional and global scale. Throughout her career, she has been deeply committed to sustainability and have led various initiatives to embed sustainable practices in her work place as well as communities. As the co-chair of the Eco Club at JLL Hong Kong, she spearheaded numerous programs to reduce the firm’s environmental impact in HK and engaging employees in sustainability efforts.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

My ambition is for Hong Kong to transform into a city where reusable alternatives become the standard, reducing single-use waste and promoting a more sustainable future. For 2024-25, below are my key goals:
1) Enabling targetted partnerships with property developers & corporations to help replace single-use cups and food boxes with reuseable alternatives.
2) Working with partner cafes to promote reusables more actively.
3) Partnering with environmental organisations to reach a wider audience for Muuse.

Sharon Ng is a recent graduate of BSc in Biological Science and MSc in Environmental Science and Management from HKUST. She founded Sootable with the mission of teaching humans how to live peacefully with nature. She is a Science-lover and is eager to apply scientific principles to drive innovations in Sootable. For starters, she took on the project to tackle severe air pollution and accelerate the transition to renewable energy simultaneously. Through waste-to-X transformations as a mid-term goal, she hopes that Sootable can upcycle unwanted materials into something beneficial to the environment, which is the definition of X.

Sootable defines itself as a Nature-inclined, GreenTech and ClimateTech company. Sharon and her team are working hard to implement nature-compatible solutions to restore Earth’s splendid scenery.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

– The roadmap to a healthy world which I aspire to make it happen is Sustainability, Redundancy, Abundance and lower cost for the right things.
– A tighter Circular Economy loop
– Lead humans, by humans, with love (love is contagious and therefore sustainable!)
– A cleaner Supply Chain

A highly experienced practitioner, consultant and facilitator Marisa blends management and leadership of strategic design and innovation. Her work across disciplines is broad – supporting organisations to understand, apply and leverage frameworks and methodologies to optimise value creation; from consulting to co-creating, with Fortune 500’s, national ministries, non/not-just-for-profits and SMEs.

In 2009 Marisa discovered her nascent entrepreneur and embarked on her first sustainability-led business model venture, shifting the negative perception of plant-based eating; enabling reduced-carbon diets and responsible consumption – supporting organic farmers, through a (then) pioneering circularity, systems-thinking based business.

After a move to Singapore, in 2016, the nexus of her old life and new was conceived – The Inceptery (B Corp certified in 2021); an innovation firm working at the edge of conventional boundaries and assumptions, challenging notions of success in our current paradigm – focusing on systemic value creation.

Recently the emphasis has also shifted to include supporting teams to become more self-sufficient – to embed and embody the knowledge, understanding, capabilities and mindsets needed to build a culture of democratic, inclusive and responsible innovation towards systemic change – for people, planet, prosperity as a strategic imperative.

In their work they take each opportunity to scale broad and deep, building the capacity of the ecosystem by creating the conditions for others to be empowered to take action, through our collective consultancy and tech enabled decision-making support.

A graduate in Strategic Design Management, and with a firm belief in the non-linear nature of systems change, that encompasses the many facets of sustainability – wherever opportunity arises, she harbours a fascination with the limitless power of intentionality, giving a voice to underrepresented users, and externalising creative processes collectively – bringing about new consciousness, solutions, and businesses alongside technology to improve human-planetary conditions.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

1. Regionally, not just HKG, for organisations or all sizes and types to start their sustainability performance measurement and improvement through reporting and disclosures in any form they can. Just getting started using the variety of tools, platforms and technology that exist already, which should help them in getting started on this journey.

2. We are looking for larger scale organisations for a pilot who want to explore building new or shifting old business models to think about the business model of the future that incorporates sustainability-led imperative, using tools and methodologies that incorporate systemic value creation as a primary driver.

3. From HKG and the region, build a synergistic network of partners, collaborators and clients focused on holistic approaches towards systemic value creation and systems innovation. (Either they have solutions or the desire/need and want to bring build a collective do this through partnering and collaboration).

Mr Edwin Lau is currently the Founder and Executive Director of The Green Earth, an environmental organization promoting resource conservation and zero-waste culture. He has been actively engaged in environmental protection work since the late 1980s. During the period, he placed great concern on several pressing environmental topics, e.g. waste management, air pollution, climate change and energy conservation.

Mr Lau is currently a member of CUHK Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change Expert Committee and senior advisor of Hong Kong Solar Industries Association.

In 2009, Mr Lau was awarded the Medal of Honour by the HKSAR Government in recognition of his long-term contribution to the promotion of environmental protection and environmental education. In the same year, he was also awarded an Outstanding Earth Champion by The Earth Champions Foundation.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

• Shelving the waste-charging scheme does not mean the city’s waste crisis has gone, instead, we must act stronger in avoiding waste generation at source and followed by practising clean recycling to genuinely address the waste crisis.
• Hong Kong should do more in enhancing the building energy efficiency of the entire building stock.
• Renewable energy, including Green Hydrogen, should be developed much faster to supply the city with zero-carbon renewables to cope with the increasing demand, otherwise even with faster transition to electric transport would not contribute much in decarbonisation.
• We need to educate the public a lot more to raise their environmental awareness so that the majority of the population will act green continuously.

Kenny is currently serving as the Treasurer of the Hong Kong Waste Management Association (HKWMA). Hong Kong Waste Management Association (HKWMA), inaugurated in 1994, has been the premier organization representing professionals in Hong Kong’s solid waste management and environmental industries. Our members range from government officials, consultants, contractors and academia both locally and internationally.

Kenny is the Co-Founder of EnviPro Technology Company Limited (EnviPro), contributing to consultancy projects related to air, acoustic, odour and health impact assessment in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

In 2021, Kenny appointed by the Government as member of the Advisory Committee on Countryside Conservation (ACCC). Kenny obtained The outstanding alumni Award from the PolyU CEE in 2023.

Our sustainability goals for 2024:

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them. Progress is impossible without change.

Keilem Ng mixes an international career working in real estate finance and investment with a passionate commitment to sustainability and the environment. Keilem is currently General Manager – Sustainability at Link REIT, Asia’s largest real estate investment trust, and is responsible for integrating sustainability into all aspects of the business. Keilem joined the investment industry in 2004 and has worked in New York, Shanghai and Hong Kong covering global markets. From 2009 to 2017, Keilem was an Executive Director at JPMorgan Asset Management responsible for real asset acquisitions and asset management throughout Asia Pacific. Keilem holds a BA in Architecture from Yale University and a MS in Real Estate from New York University. She is also the founder of the non-profit organisations Eco Marine and Exchange and Empower.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

In 2024, I hope to continue and deepen collaboration with our stakeholders to take action to make on the ground change.

Karen spearheads the development and execution of  strategies that promote sustainable operations within the Cathay group, driving the organization towards its goals of sustainability leadership. She focuses on facilitating resource circularity, reducing waste, and leading Cathay’s sustainability communications and disclosures. Prior to joining Cathay, Karen worked in ESG advisory, serving both corporate and non-profit clients. She is passionate about creating eco-conscious travel experiences and driving systemic changes to enhance sustainability in the industry, embodying the ethos of “greener together.”

Alfred Weston has worked for the Swire Group since 2011. He spent six years at Swire Pacific Offshore, mainly located in Singapore and Angola, three years at Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong, and three years with John Swire & Sons in Papua New Guinea, before joining New Life Plastics in September 2022.

New Life Plastics aspires to be a catalyst for change in the plastic bottle circular economy in Hong Kong. It is the first recycling facility of its kind in Hong Kong and is focused on recycling PET beverage bottles to a food-grade standard; this enables bottles collected in Hong Kong to be remade back into beverage bottles, closing the bottle-to-bottle loop.

To improve the bottle-to-bottle recycling rate in Hong Kong.

Ir Prof. Dan Tsang is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Pao Yue-Kong Chair Professor in the State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilisation at Zhejiang University in China. Dan was a Professor and MSc Programme Leader at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Visiting Professor at the University of Queensland in Australia and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in the US and IMETE Scholar at Ghent University in Belgium, and postdoctoral fellow at Imperial College London in the UK. He has more than 20 years of R&D experience, published more than 500 articles in top 10% journals, and was selected as Stanford University’s Top 2% Scientists and Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers in the academic fields of Engineering as well as Environment & Ecology. Dan’s team aspires to develop green technologies for long-term decarbonisation and promote resources circularity and sustainable development. Dan also serves as the founding Editor-in-Chief of npj Materials Sustainability, Chairman of the Hong Kong Waste Management Association (HKWMA), and Chairman of Waste Management Subcommittee of the Advisory Council on the Environment (ACE) of the Hong Kong SAR Government.

Amy is responsible for defining local sustainability strategy and driving actions towards the Decathlon united decarbonization goal. Besides the role of Sustainability Leader, Amy has an extra role as a the city operation leader. This duo role facilitates her in staff sustainability engagement and collaboration across all functions.

She is also a CLIMATE FRESK facilitator who is passionate in raising people’s awareness and understanding on Climate Change matter.

To foster the development of Decathlon HK circular economy and raise people awareness on climate change. 

Judy Ho is an accomplished sustainability professional with a diverse background in sustainable development, climate action, circular economy, and environmental consultancy. Currently serving as the Sustainability Manager at Swire Coca-Cola HK, Judy is responsible for driving sustainability programs and decarbonization actions in the Hong Kong market, in line with the Swire Coca-Cola 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy.

Prior to her role at Swire, Judy held the position of Senior Technical Climate Action Advisor at World Vision International, the largest international for-purpose organization. In this role, she provided high-quality technical assistance in strategy and program design, focusing on securing financing solutions in areas such as environment, climate change, resilience, livelihoods, and economic development.

Judy’s expertise extends to environmental and strategy consultancy, where she led efforts in strategy development and sustainable financing with multilateral agencies. She has also played a leadership role in implementing waste management and climate change projects across the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition to her professional roles, Judy holds an important position as an appointed member of the Environment and Conservation Fund Committee by the Chief Executive of HKSAR. In this capacity, she offers valuable advice on the appropriate utilization of the fund.

Furthermore, Judy Ho has been appointed as a member of The Food Wise Hong Kong Steering Committee and the Advisory Committee on Recycling Fund by the Environment and Ecology Bureau. Through these positions, she lends her expertise and provides guidance on initiatives related to food waste reduction and recycling in Hong Kong.

Sustainability Goals for 2024:

To achieve genuine circularity by developing packaging solutions that fully incorporate eco-design principles.

Ms Clara Tse is Senior Manager, Research Project Design, of The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel. Clara has good experience in the area of Environment, Social and Governance gained in both work and voluntary capacities. Prior to joining HKRITA, she was senior manager at BASF, a chemical company, responsible for strategy and project management in the Asia region.

HKRITA will be launching an ambitious initiative called “The Open Lab.” The Open Lab aims to provide agile solutions for the textiles, apparel, and fashion industries in addressing climate change. It will serve as a collaborative space located in Hong Kong and will be launched in September 2024. We invite partners to join forces in developing technologies that drive sustainability initiatives at the forefront of the fashion and textiles industry. The intention is to fund projects and rapidly scale outcomes, making resources widely available to tackle the challenges posed by climate change.

Linda oversees sustainability strategy for L’Oréal Hong Kong and its 18 unique beauty brands in the market, including Lancôme, Kiehl’s, YSL Beauty, shu uemura, L’Oréal Paris and La Roche-Posay, to name a few. L’Oréal Group’s sustainability commitment, “L’Oréal for the Future”, covers specific KPIs on net zero, sustainable consumption and social impact.

With 20 years of strategic communications and engagement experience, Linda has held different senior leadership positions in leading global companies. Before her current roles, she was Corporate Affairs Director for L’Oréal North Asia overseeing external and internal communications across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Korea. Before joining L’Oréal, Linda was External Affairs Director Hong Kong and Taiwan for Reckitt Benckiser and Mead Johnson Nutrition for 6 years. At the start of her career, Linda spent 9 years with Edelman where she provided strategic communications counsel to many multinational companies as well as the Hong Kong Government.

Benjamin Steuer is an assistant professor at the Division of Environment and Sustainability at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He obtained his PhD at the University of Vienna with a thesis on China’s Circular Economy. Since his research assistance at the Institute of Waste Management (BOKU University, Vienna), he spent over 10 years conducting project based research on recycling (household waste, end of life ships, waste electrical and electronic equipment) and Circular Economy business models in mainland China and Hong Kong. Next to his academic employment, Benjamin is working as consultant for Hong Kong organisations and for the German GIZ. His interdisciplinary (waste management, institutional economics, circular economy business management) and mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative survey methods) works are published by Resources, Conservation and Recycling, Waste Management, Journal of Environmental Management, Waste Management & Research: The Journal for a Sustainable Circular Economy, Journal of Chinese Governance among others. An Chieh Chiang is the Managing Director of LOJEL, overseeing company operations as the third generation of his family-owned business since 2014. As CEO and Managing Director of LOJEL, Chiang has positioned the brand to place sustainability and innovation at the forefront of design. By implementing a “design for repair” methodology in crafting products and enforcing a 3 pillar system for sustainability Chiang repositioned the company culture to emphasize environmental, social, and governance programs.

During 2023, Chiang implemented significant environmental impact measures at LOJEL, diverting 85,000kg of waste from landfills, reducing their reliance on air freights by 95%, and offsetting their emissions by 37%. The company also provides its team with access to educational modules. This ensures that every member of the LOJEL team is familiar with sustainability topics such as Climate Change, Waste Management, and Circularity and how these impact LOJEL’s brand and culture.

Ronald Ho is the Head of Public Affairs & Sustainability of foodpanda Hong Kong, overseeing government and business relations, strategy development as well as CSR and sustainability practices. With extensive experience in the industry, Ronald has been cultivating a broad network within the community and business stakeholders, facilitating communication with different government departments, facilitating gig economy’s development on behalf of foodpanda to balance the interests of different stakeholders. Ronald also focuses on strategising the CSR and Sustainability practices at foodpanda, including working with government and cross-section stakeholders to launch the industry’s first-ever closed-loop reusable packaging programme, ECF: Choose to Reuse, offering a more sustainable option to people in Hong Kong. Before joining foodpanda, Ronald was the Public Policy Lead at Uber and UberEATS Hong Kong, leading the brand in exploring all the opportunities in the platform economy.

Kayley graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Master of Social Sciences in the field of Sustainability Leadership and Governance and from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Sciences (majoring in Environmental Studies), she is a Certified Environmental, Social and Governance Analyst (CESGA) and the Certified ESG Planner (CEP). She is the founder of Sustainable Lab HK, promoting sustainable style via consultation, environmental exhibitions, talks and workshops, and raising environmental awareness among the public. She is the Project Manager of the “Art and Nature” Dialogue Exhibition Series to promote sustainability concept and environmental pollution problems, previous themes include wood repairing, marine microplastics and deforestation, etc. She advocates promoting repair concepts and circular economy among corporates, NGOs, schools and public. She has been involved in various public lectures, environmental exhibitions, environmental education programs, event management, corporate fundraising, student training, public relations, and marketing management. She is also committed to youth leadership training and charity programs.

Edward is an award-winning design and project professional in integrated planning, urban, architectural and interior design, with over 25 years of experience in realizing various development projects covering commercial, retail and hospitality industry in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Southeast Asia.   Edward was part of the regional senior management at AECOM ASIA.   He was Vice President in the company, as part of the leadership in the development of Design + Planning business in Greater China.

Edward joined Hang Lung Properties in 2022 and as the Deputy General Manager of the Asset Assurance and Improvement department, Edward’s focus lies in enriching the company’s physical assets through robust project and design management, balancing new technologies, sustainable measures and the corporate core value. His current responsibilities include the rejuvenation of the company’s Hong Kong Headquarters, new mall extensions for Plaza 66 in Shanghai, and the renovation of Parc 66 in Jinan.

C F Leung is the Director – Operations at the Business Environment Council. With over 25 years of experience, CF has played a pivotal role in driving sustainability initiatives across the city.

In his current role at BEC, CF oversees a diverse portfolio of projects that span green building consultancy, energy and carbon auditing, waste management and auditing, award programs, funding initiatives, ESG strategy development, and stakeholder/tenant engagement. He is also a frequent speaker, delivering training to a wide range of audiences, from university students to senior management of corporations.

CF’s technical expertise and strategic leadership have been instrumental in guiding both public and private sector organisations towards environmentally responsible practices and net zero goals.

Tina is the Group Head of Philanthropy for John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Limited and leads the philanthropic arm of the wider Swire group, which includes The Swire Group Charitable Trust (Swire Trust), group level volunteering activities, Swire Scholarships, and Taikoo Primary School.

Tina led the TrustTomorrow initiative, which celebrated Swire’s 150th anniversary in Hong Kong through the Group injecting an additional $150 million to the Trust. This initiative has supported over 60 inspirational projects that aim to bring lasting benefits and positive change to the community through. Under her leadership, TrustTomorrow has expanded the Trust’s scope of grant-making to connect the portfolio with operating companies in Swire, as well as mobilising Swire staff in volunteering for the TrustTomorrow NGO partners, delivering over 50 events engaging over 1,000 staff per year. She is also the School Supervisor of Taikoo Primary School, a school established by the Swire group over 100 years ago.

Tina has 15 years of experience in grant-making and charitable foundation management. She has worked in HSBC’s Philanthropy Services team in Hong Kong and served as Executive Director the Chen Yet-Sen Family Foundation, an award-winning charitable foundation focusing on education in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Ghana.

Tina attained both her Master’s and Bachelor degree in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University in USA.

Melanie is the Assistant General Manager (Sustainability) and the Head of Sustainability of Sino Group. She oversees a range of sustainability projects related to ESG. Being a specialist in the realm of Sustainable Development for nearly 20 years, Melanie has also gained extensive experiences in Sustainable Tourism and Stakeholder Engagement.
Melanie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Management from the Imperial College London, a Master Degree of Science in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Master Degree in Sustainable Business from the University of Cambridge. She is also a certified Sustainable Tourism Professional by Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
Melanie is serving various public duties, including the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC)’s Environment & Sustainability Committee, a member of the Publicity Working Group of Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC), a sub-committee member on Youth and Capacity Building of the Environment and Ecology Bureau, HKSAR Government and a member of the Advisory Committee on Recycling Fund (RFAC) of the Environment and Ecology Bureau, HKSAR Government.

Ms. Harmony Li is the Head of Impact Community at Social Ventures Hong Kong (SVhk), she is also the Chief Empowerment Officer of HATCH (合廠) and COMM,ON (安所), two impact ventures dedicated to unleashing talent potentials in becoming change agents at workplace and in community. She possesses 15+ years of experience working in for-purpose sector, devoted to driving bottom-up participations and cross-sectoral collaborations in addressing social issues.

李端儀女士為香港社會創投基金(SVhk)社區創效主管，她同時是 HATCH (合廠) 及 COMM,ON (安所) 創效平台的Chief Empowerment Officer，兩者致力培育潛在人才在職場及社區成為創變者。李女士擁有15+年慈善機構工作經驗，銳意推動民間參與及跨界別協作，為社會議題塑造多元方案。

Graduate of the first Profession Certificate in Arts Management course at the Hong Kong Art School (2002), James is a seasoned arts administrator and a social entrepreneur specializing in cross-sector collaboration. From writing theatre critics to managing bookstores and restaurants; from a safety supervisor in the construction industry to organizing public education activities in international NGO, he later established a social enterprise to promote reading experience. He secured multiple social impact funding and participated in numerous social innovation projects with art and cultural elements. He published a multi-sensory audio description picture book “The Gift Beyond”, which won the Best Publication Award in the “Children and Youth Category” of the Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Award 2023. He graduated with a Master degree in Anthropology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2020, he is currently teaching “Social Work and Social Entrepreneurship” class at Hong Kong College of Technology, and Digital Creativity and Cultural Management courses in Master of Cultural Studies at Lingnan University.

Dicky Chow is the Head of Healthcare and Social Innovation at Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF). He has published reports and articles on various topics, including primary healthcare, healthcare information system, health financing, mental health, Chinese medicine, and end-of-life care. In addition, he was invited to speak at international conferences, local seminars, Legislative Council meetings and TV programmes.

Prior to joining OHKF, Dicky worked in the Government and different think tanks to gain experience in policy analysis and implementation. Dicky received his Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Business Administration from the University of Hong Kong and his Master’s degree in Psychology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Helen Hui is Managing Director, Head, Banking and Coverage, HK, Taiwan and Macau, Corporate and Investment Banking. She is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the bank’s Corporate, Investment Banking business in Hong Kong. She also has management oversight of the bank’s Corporate and Investment business in Taiwan and Macau.
Helen is an experienced International Banker with a banking career spanning over 25 years in Hong Kong, Taiwan and New York. She joined Standard Chartered Bank in 1998 and has held several key management positions in Corporate and Institutional Banking and Retail Banking. Helen also spent over seven years in Taiwan as Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking from 2005 to 2012 and was instrumental in the integration and transformation of the business after the acquisition of Hsinchu International Bank. Helen has an MBA from Kellogg School of Management.

許穗華為渣打銀行董事總經理及香港區主管，為香港的企業及投資銀行業務提供策略發展方向。

黃先生在1999年加入特區政府政務職系。他曾於政制事務局、衞生福利局、旅遊事務署、香港駐柏林經濟貿易辦事處、商務及經濟發展局、財經事務及庫務局、環境局等工作。他在2020年12月起擔任深水埗民政事務專員，期間因統籌為長者及學童接種新冠疫苗的工作，獲頒行政長官公共服務獎狀。自上任後，他致力提倡以科技及數據分析處理民生「痛點」，希望可以提升居民幸福感，以及發展深水埗成為智慧社區。

Mr Wong joined the Administrative Service of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in 1999. He had held posts in the Constitutional Affairs Bureau, Health and Welfare Bureau, Tourism Commission, the Economic and Trade Office in Berlin, Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau, Environment Bureau. He was appointed District Officer (Sham Shui Po) in December 2020. He was awarded the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Government/Public Service for his work in coordinating Covid-19 vaccination programmes for the elderly and pupils. Since taking up this position, he has been advocating using technology and data analytics to address community “pain points” to better the well-being of the locals and to develop Sham Shui Po into a smart district.

Ms Kun currently is serving as Head of the Energizing Kowloon East Office (EKEO) under the Development Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government. Her major works are associated with the transformation of Kowloon East into a vibrant and attractive second core business district of Hong Kong, through enhancing and facilitating the development potential; improving connectivity /branding /design /diversity; and promoting place making in the area.

Prior to the appointment as Head of EKEO, Ms Kun served in the Planning Department for more than 30 years. Her experience covered strategic planning and major planning studies in relation to the Northern Metropolis and the Kau Yi Chau Artificial Islands. In particular, she had involved heavily in formulating the development plan for San Tin Technopole, as well as planning and engineering studies for new development areas including Kwu Tung North/Fanling North, Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen and Yuen Long South. Ms Kun had also spent some years in supporting the Secretariat of Town Planning Board and participated in formulating/reviewing some of the town planning guidelines and procedures in Hong Kong.

Community Engagement:
Engaging with the local community through sustainability initiatives and events to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable living practices.

MegaBox is actively promoting and implementing initiatives in these major directions.

Registered Social Worker who worked in NGO for 30 years, mainly focus on community service in serving the underprivileged individuals and families. Establish a Community Hub cater for the needs of the families living in subdivided units at Kwun Tong recently. Obtained a Master Degree at University of Hong Kong, major in Mental Health. With 10 years experiences in a pilot mental health project who served peoples with early psychosis.

To enhance the health and wellbeing of those families living in subdivided units through the participation in the community hub.

Ms Clara Chan is the Chief Executive Officer of Lee Kee Group, a leading solutions provider for metals in China and ASEAN region. Ms Chan is responsible for leading the Group in business development and providing strategic direction, including digitalisation and sustainability drive, taking the conventional metal manufacturing industry to the next level. Leading a professional management team, Ms Chan leverages her wealth of experience in commodity market and global trade, creating a portfolio of value-added products and services that help hundreds of brand owners to provide their products worldwide.

Mr Jude Chow is the Founder & CEO of AEL (International Holdings) Limited. In his early years in Australia, Mr Chow had extensive exposure to large-scale construction engineering, airport engineering, and environmental engineering projects. He then took up a regional position in a German technology company and was responsible for projects across 13 countries in the Asia Pacific. After joining AEL, he has led the company to sustainable growth from developing new products and entering into new markets, including Belt and Road countries. He is now working with partners from Europe, local research institutes and universities to build a waste-to-energy solution for the Asian Market. He is also dedicated to contributing to society with active participation in voluntary work and being a mentor for the City University of Hong Kong’s School of Energy and Environment, as well as the promotion of sustainability by representing the industry to liaise with Government and overseas counterparts.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Prof. Lianne Lam holds a DBA Degree at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, focusing in Environmental Education. Her thesis paper was presented in the Public Management Research Conference in the University of Wisconsin in 2013, showcasing 2 different Environmental Education approaches. She also holds an EMBA Degree, a Bachelor of Law Degree from the Peking University, and a Bachelor Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Toronto.

Dr. Lam began her career in Hong Kong with marketing and public relations roles from the Far East Group of Companies and the Palm Island Resort (China) before setting up her own public relations firm handling integrated marketing. In 2003, she was approached by the Cogitoimage Group, a multi-national company with offices in Taiwan, Singapore, and Dusseldorf, to become a partner . Under her management, the firm expanded its offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and London focusing in the “Space Branding” business.

After graduated from her doctoral degree in 2013, she puts her research into practice and set up the Hong Kong Sustainable Society – a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging positive-thinking to promote sustainable development in Hong Kong. Activity engaged in different community service, Dr. Lam is the principle applicant and leader for the Artemis – a Social Innovation Funded project that focus on social inclusion through the diving buddy system for the handicapped and cancer patients; and an Advisor for the Leadership Institute on Narcotics for the Hong Kong Police Force. She was also the Advisor of the Deaf Game 2019; Members in the Hong Kong Appeal Board, and Advisor of the Ocean Park Charity Foundation Hong Kong.

Academically, Dr. Lam is the Program Chair of the International Conference on Sustainable Technology and Management in 2022-2023 and the Program Chair of the 2023 International Conference of Education Technology and Administration . She also participated in organizing role in school-based events such as the Post-Covid Retail Opportunity Forum in Hong Kong in March 2023; Experiential learning activities such as the servicing learning study tour in Vietnam in May 2023; and the Dongguan Collaboration study trip in June 2023. In 2011-2013, she lead a team of 20 University students, with the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong to conduct a 3 years research project, as the Principal Researcher and Advisor for the “Panda Action” in Foping, China.

Alvin is currently Sustainability Manager of Maxim’s Group, one of Asia’s leading food and beverage companies, strategizing sustainability development across 80+ brands towards a more circular operation. Having graduated from HKU’s Department of Ecology and Biodiversity followed by his 10-year stint as a journalist specializing in green culture and ecotourism, Alvin has always been passionate about biodiversity and environmental education. Prior to joining Maxim’s, he was the Senior ESG and Communications Manager of Green Monday Group. He has worked as a cetacean researcher in Hong Kong waters, and a lobbyist for animal welfare organizations.

Mr. Sunny Leung is a professional in the field of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) with over 10 years of experience in the environmental industry. He previously served as an environmental consultant in Fridley, Minnesota, USA, focusing on research into sustainable urban greening. Subsequently, Mr. Leung returned to Hong Kong to work in environmental auditing, where he was responsible for systematic assessments of corporate environmental regulations and standards, and for promoting ongoing development in climate technology and environmental science projects.

Currently, Mr. Leung is the Technical and Operations Director at Eco Enrich Group, dedicated to providing professional services in environmental resource management and environmental engineering. His clients include the Hong Kong government, publicly listed companies, multinational corporations, and non-profit organizations. Through collaboration with a diverse clientele, Mr. Leung understands the rapidly evolving requirements for ESG across different countries and is committed to helping clients achieve their green, low-carbon goals while overcoming challenges in implementing ESG strategies. In the printing industry, for instance, Mr. Leung’s expertise includes designing automated feeding systems, optimizing recycling chains, and implementing smart energy management systems to enhance corporate safety protocols.

Mr. Leung graduated from the University of Minnesota, USA, with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management.

Objectives:

1. Develop and Implement Cost-Effective Green Technologies:
– Goal: Facilitate the adoption of affordable, green technologies and practices that reduce environmental impact without imposing heavy financial burdens on the industries.
– Actions:
– Identify scalable and cost-effective green technologies suitable for each industry.
– Assist in securing funding or incentives available for green technology implementations.
– Provide training and support for the integration of these technologies into existing operations.

2. Optimize Resource Efficiency:
– Goal: Improve resource efficiency in production processes to reduce waste and lower costs, thereby enhancing both economic and environmental performance.
– Actions:
– Conduct comprehensive resource audits to identify waste reduction opportunities.
– Implement lean manufacturing principles tailored to each industry to minimize waste and maximize resource use.
– Promote the use of recycled materials where feasible.

3. Promote Sustainable Job Creation:

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

1. Hong Kong food commercial and industrial generate huge amounts of food waste daily, apart from disposing of the food waste in landfills, a proportion of food waste can be processed and regenerated as different forms of useful sources and contribute to agriculture and fishery. It is hoped to see more incentives and funding available to encourage more parties to develop solutions and expedite the implementation.

2. Transparency and credibility in green initiatives’ product claims are crucial for the sustainable market. It is hoped our mark can help companies build trust in their products and brands to showcase their green initiatives in the market with independent environmental claim certification and verification.

Ms Clara Chan is the Chief Executive Officer of Lee Kee Group, a leading solutions provider for metals in China and ASEAN region. Ms Chan is responsible for leading the Group in business development and providing strategic direction, including digitalisation and sustainability drive, taking the conventional metal manufacturing industry to the next level. Lik Cheng, a veteran with ten years in the building material industry, caters to clients in both Hong Kong and Mainland China, including architectural firms and real estate developers. Lik’s professionalism and insightful approach make him a respected figure in the sector, sought after for his expertise. Ms. Linda W.P. Ho, as the Chief Executive Officer of the Green Council (GC), leads efforts in sustainable development, encompassing environmental, carbon, water and waste management, energy conservation, sustainable procurement, ISO management systems, LCA and ESG matters. Her leadership is pivotal in promoting ecological stewardship through innovative strategies.
Under her guidance, the Green Council has experienced significant growth, leveraging her extensive expertise to advance its mission. She has successfully developed and implemented a wide range of programs, including technology transfers, awareness campaigns, sustainability and ESG framework and assessment as well as educational initiatives. Linda has also spearheaded comprehensive certification schemes and programs, and training sessions to enhance employees’ skills to elevate industry standards.
Her efforts in establishing awards programs and labeling schemes have promoted excellence in sustainability. On a global scale, Linda has led impactful promotional campaigns and initiatives, strengthening partnerships and collaborations across local, regional, and international levels. Her visionary approach continues to drive the Green Council’s success in fostering sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

Ricky spearheads MM alternative leathers and product developments at MM Limited. Bringing a wealth of experience, Ricky previously spearheaded material R&D at Fossil for nearly 9 years. He is an alumnus of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, equipped with substantial industry knowledge in the vegan/alternative leather sector. Renowned for his proficiency in material sourcing & product development, Ricky is also deeply passionate about sustainability and continues to drive innovative material solutions within the industry.

Keith Wong is the Associate Director of Sustainability at Top Form Group. With 15 years of extensive experience in supply chain management and its relationship to sustainability, Keith has been instrumental in developing Top Form’s comprehensive Sustainability Strategy.
