I am a Social Sustainability Professional with a focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I). With cross-disciplinary knowledge in psychology and public health as well as multi-sector experience in academia, non-profit, and corporate, I support organizations through consulting, research, events, and programs to facilitate discussions and develop action plans on approaching DE&I and mental well-being as a social and business issue.

Grace Cheng

Founder & CEO

Grace Cheng is the founder and CEO of Agewhale. Inspired by her experience caring for her grandparents, she established Agewhale to assist families in navigating elder care. Her vision is for Agewhale to emerge as the leading social innovator in family caregiver support, transforming caregiving into a positive experience for all. Agewhale has received seed funding from the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation and The Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund.

Grace’s expertise in caregiving has been recognized through her invitation to speak at TEDxTinHauWomen 2023, her role as an advisor for Resolve’s Fellowship Program, and her participation in the Professional Fellows Program 2024 funded by the US Department of State.

Prior to founding Agewhale, Grace was the General Manager of the Fair Employment Agency, where she worked to reinvent the standards of the migrant domestic worker recruitment industry. Grace graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

1. Improve the well-being of older persons and their family caregivers.
2. Advocate support for caregivers in the workplace to balance family responsibilities and career advancements.
3. Raise public awareness of the importance of proactive care planning.

Jennifer Choot

Senior Manager, People Strategy, Talent Management, Inclusion, Equity & Diversity

Jennifer Choot is the Senior Manager, People Strategy, Talent Management, Inclusion, Equity & Diversity of Hongkong Land Limited. In her role, she collaborates with business leaders to build and develop strong and diverse talent pipelines, and design strategies to drive organizational effectiveness within a high-performing culture. In her IE&D role, she curates policies, events and has launched learning programs to foster a culture where everyone is valued, supported, and feels a sense of belonging.

Prior to her current role, Ms Choot was previously at Jardine Matheson where she reviewed and formulated talent and performance management practices. Before that, she was with Aon Hewitt, consulting clients on assessment and engagement projects, and was the lead of the Best Employers Programme.

Prof. Dannii Yeung

Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences, City University of Hong Kong

Professor

Prof. Dannii Yeung is a professor of psychology from the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences at City University of Hong Kong. She is a fellow of the Gerontological Society of American (GSA). Her research focuses on identifying effective means to improve the psychological well-being of middle-aged and older adults, including research projects on age-related changes in work motives and conflict management, age discrimination in the workplace, retirement planning, caregiving for frail older adults, interventions to promote volunteering and improve mental well-being of older adults. She has received research funding from the RGC General Research Fund, RGC Collaborative Research Fund, Public Policy Research Funding Scheme, and other funding sources to support her projects.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

To improve job opportunities and well-being for older workers; To increase working adults’ preparation for retirement; To reduce mental health problems of older people.

Brett is a Partner in EY’s Financial Services Technical Consulting practice, with 25 years experience across both Consulting and In-house. He focuses on large, multi-year digital transformational programmes with expertise in packaged solutions such as SAP, ServiceNow, Workday, PegaSystems, Oracle. Brett has extensive in-house experience with a Global UK Bank, Australia’s largest bank and the largest Pan-Asian Life Insurer and Asia-pacific experience having lived and worked in Australia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Brett is an active member of EY’s DE&I community participating in events such as Male Allies, Gay Games 2024 and a sponsor of Women in Tech.
