HKEX Foundation Backs Agewhale’s Innovative Corporate Caregiver Support Program

Agewhale has secured a grant from the HKEX Foundation to pioneer an innovative workplace support program addressing the growing challenges faced by Hong Kong’s working caregivers.

The initiative introduces a unique approach by transforming former family caregivers into professional care coordinators, creating meaningful employment opportunities while leveraging their valuable firsthand experience. These coordinators, equipped with specialized training, will provide crucial support to current working caregivers struggling to balance professional and caregiving responsibilities.

For corporations, the program offers comprehensive employee benefits including personalized care consultations, needs assessments, and educational sessions. This support system helps organizations retain valuable talent, reduce caregiver-related absenteeism, and enhance workplace productivity.

“Our program creates a win-win situation,” explains Grace Cheng, Founder and CEO of Agewhale. “Companies demonstrate their commitment to diversity and inclusion while gaining practical solutions to support their caregiving employees. Meanwhile, former caregivers find purposeful employment opportunities utilizing their unique expertise.”

The initiative particularly benefits women in the workforce, who often bear the primary caregiving responsibilities. By providing structured support, organizations can better retain female talent and promote gender equity in the workplace.

Corporations interested in joining this pioneering initiative as pilot partners can contact grace@agewhale.com for more information about implementing this innovative caregiver-support model in their organizations.
