Since launching the Sustainable Legacies strategy in 2021, AECOM has embarked on a journey to become a more responsive, accountable, and responsible global enterprise. The company has released its annual Sustainability Report, tracking progress against environmental, social, and governance (ESG) corporate goals.
This year’s Sustainability Report 2024 underscores AECOM’s progress and ongoing commitment to embedding leading sustainability, resilience, and governance practices in all operations.
Over the past year, AECOM has engaged in various ESG initiatives and programs to help clients meet net-zero goals, address climate challenges, enhance resilience, and advance the company’s sustainability objectives. The ScopeXTM approach exemplifies this effort, embodying AECOM’s ambition and strategy to systemize the methods, workflows, and technologies needed to decarbonize delivered projects.
Additionally, AECOM has collaborated with partners and stakeholders to develop the SMI Nature Risk Tool, which aims to create a forward-looking, decision-ready solution for guiding early-stage infrastructure decisions.
Fostering sustainability across the organization and workforce also involves equipping employees with the necessary tools and training to work safely, sustainably, and ethically. AECOM has trained its team on a global sustainability risk framework, allowing continual assessment of project and environmental risks across every decision made.
