ExxonMobil launches the first renewable diesel for public road use in Hong Kong

ExxonMobil Hong Kong Limited has become the first supplier of renewable diesel for public road use in Hong Kong. Launched in 2024, Esso Renewable Diesel R20 is a high-quality renewable diesel with an estimated 15.4%* lower lifecycle greenhouse gas (“GHG”) emissions compared to conventional diesel. Made with minimum 20% renewable content – hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) refined from waste oils, such as used cooking oil, it offers diesel customers a drop-in replacement fuel that can be used immediately with all existing diesel engines without requiring any modifications, while still delivering the same great protection and cleaning power with the proprietary Esso Synergy™ additive.

The launch of Esso Renewable Diesel R20 marks a milestone in providing customers with an accessible and immediate solution for reducing their GHG emissions with minimal change to their current diesel vehicle operation. It is now available at four selected stations – Esso Tsing Yi South, Esso Kowloon Bay 1, Esso Tsuen Wan, and Esso Shek Mun. Simply drive your diesel vehicle to the stations to fuel up and transition towards lower GHG emissions with ease!
