Jove and Partners Power a Greener Future Through EV Charging Collaboration

While electric vehicle (EV) adoption accelerates in Hong Kong, drivers are still faced with pain points as a result of insufficient and fragmented public EV charging services. With this in mind, MTR Lab’s subsidiary Urban Access Solutions Company Limited (UAS) launched its EV charging and smart parking platform Jove to provide more convenient and integrated EV charging services in collaboration with value chain partners.

Leveraging the success of its pioneering Octopus Card-based access control services, UAS has expanded its business into smart parking and EV charging solutions, to meet the growing EV charging demand and support the government’s roadmap for popularising EVs. Its EV charging platform, Jove, offers convenient features such as charger availability checking, contactless car park entry and exit, guidance to parked cars, and auto payment.

Together with partners, Jove has rolled out over 250 public charging points in shopping malls in Hong Kong within nine months since its debut in late 2023, and more are coming soon. Among the various collaborations, Jove partnered with PetroChina International (Hong Kong) Corporation Limited to launch EV chargers in the car park of MegaBox, an iconic shopping mall in East Kowloon.

As a collaborative platform, Jove will connect more value chain partners to expand its charger network across diverse locations, including car parks, commercial buildings, MTR premises, and petrol stations, to help alleviate EV pain points including range anxiety and difficulty searching for and reserving chargers. Together, Jove and partners will co-create a greener future for Hong Kong.
