SGS is honoured to be part of a major milestone for climate action – The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has now surpassed 10,000 companies with validated science-based targets, showing how far climate-aligned business has come and sending a strong signal that corporate climate action is accelerating.
SGS is proud to be among them and even prouder to have been one of the first 100 companies that joined the initiative. As the first testing, inspection and certification company to receive this approval, they committed to a clear, science-based pathway to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across their value chain and reach net-zero by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement.
Being part of this growing community of companies representing more than 40% of global market capitalization shows that meaningful climate action can be grounded in science and delivered at scale.
