SGS have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with HSBC to jointly enhance understanding of green and sustainable finance and related services.
The partnership will combine SGS’s expertise in conducting external review for sustainable initiatives and HSBC’s knowledge and capabilities in corporate finance to help businesses and individuals in Hong Kong learn more about the fast-evolving green finance space. Companies and the general public will be able to sign up for webinars where representatives of SGS and HSBC will discuss the latest green finance and sustainability concepts and topics. There will also be co-organised training for the employees and customers of both organisations and industry outreach sessions to raise awareness on green financing themes, tools and formats.
Ms Miranda Kwan, Director of Knowledge Solutions, SGS Hong Kong said: “We are delighted that HSBC is collaborating with us to promote green finance and sustainability through our events, giving organisations and individuals access to more ideas for long-term and sustainable development, and develop a more responsible, balanced, and sustainable future.”
Ms Carrie Ng, Head of Sustainable Finance, Commercial Banking, Hong Kong, HSBC said: “ESG is key to long term competitiveness and growth for businesses. At HSBC, we are committed to helping businesses build capacity and achieve their ESG ambitions through a comprehensive range of financing and beyond banking services.
