SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is proud to announce its inclusion for the second consecutive year among the top companies in TIME’s list of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies, developed in collaboration with data firm Statista. Notably, SGS is the highest-ranking company from the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, reflecting its leadership in driving sustainable practices across global operations.
The 2025 ranking honors 500 companies across all industries for their leadership and commitment to sustainability, based on transparent and data-driven methodology. More than 5,000 companies were assessed using a range of criteria, including external sustainability ratings, disclosure practices, environmental and social performance and corporate governance standards.
This recognition reflects the impact SGS is making through its fast execution of Strategy 27, which outlines the company’s long-term sustainability roadmap. SGS has set science-based climate targets, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. In 2024, the company sourced 97% of its electricity from renewable sources and maintained a strong position in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook.
