What You Need to Know About ESG Trends in the Consumer Product Supply Chain

Ryan has extensive industry ESG management and reporting experience in manufacturing industry. He is familiar with GRI (“Global Reporting Initiative”), HKEX’s ESG reporting guide, EU CSRD (“Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), MSCI Global ESG Rating, TCFD (“Task Force Climate Related Financial Reporting”), and the GRESB (“Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark”)

Ryan is familiar with various corporate sustainability and carbon footprint data management software and has practical experience in using them. He has successfully implemented corporate sustainability reporting data management systems for HK Electric, MTR, and CDL Singapore. Ryan is also a GRI training instructor. He was involved in the translation of GRI 3.1 Chinese version.

Charles has been working in the TIC industry for more than 20 years, specialized in legislations, regulatory activities and policies related to chemical matters. Since the industries have been advancing from chemical compliance to sustainability initiatives, he has also kept pace with this trend and got heavily engaged in providing technical advice and solutions to partners to fulfill their sustainability goals. His expertise can link up product compliance and sustainable requirements together as holistic supports to industrial stakeholders.

There are currently various initiatives coming out that are expected to bring tremendous impact to consumer products, including the measures to support circular economy, sustainable packaging, plastic strategy and environmental impacts associated with chemicals. Charles has already monitored their relevant targets and requirements at their developing stage, and now dedicate himself to frequently provide consultation and to arouse awareness to all the affected parties in the product supply chain.

Nigel Yip is the Senior Manager of Human Resources & Sustainability at Karrie International Holdings Limited. With over 20 years of experience in sustainability, particularly in the manufacturing sector, Nigel is dedicated to driving positive change and achieving a sustainable future for all stakeholders of the company.

Brian oversees the sustainability matters of the company, including but not limited to sustainability governance setup, sustainability framework adoption, target setting and monitoring, ESG reporting and organizational carbon accounts setup and maintenance.

He also advocates carbon reduction and advises on offset strategy on both organizational and product levels. He orchestrates climate risk assessment and disclosure preparation with reference to TCFD and IFRS frameworks.

He is in charge of organization and product sustainability certification as well as social responsibility system and sustainability assessment. This includes the EcoVadis sustainability assessment, UL’s Zero Waste to Landfill Certification and BSCI social responsibility methodology.

He is currently the convener of Hong Kong’s Rechargeable Battery Recycling Programme Operations Subcommittee and a Council Member of Electric Vehicle Wasted Battery Recycling of the Hong Kong WEEE Recycling Association.
