Andrew Merrilees

Andrew Merrilees is Managing Director of Bupa in Hong Kong, which includes Bupa’s health services business, Quality Healthcare. Prior to his appointment to Managing Director in early 2022, Andrew was General Manager for Bupa in Hong Kong’s insurance business from 2018-2022, following 30 years of experience in the healthcare, insurance and broker industry in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

Andrew holds an executive sponsorship position on the Bupa Asia Pacific board, advocating for a diverse working culture. Underpinned by Bupa’s ‘Be You at Bupa’ pledge, Andrew believes in empowering employees to feel confident to bring their whole selves to work, so they can feel at their best and perform at their best too.

My Sustainability Goals for 2022:

I really resonate with our One Health mission, which is about creating a healthy planet and healthy people. The power of small changes every day amount to big things. My family and I take public transport when we can and I allocate time on weekends to buy eco-friendly supplies and local produce to set up for a great week ahead.
