Prof. Martin Zhu is Co-Founder and CEO of i2Cool, whose electricity-free radiative cooling technology offers a retrofit pathway for existing buildings to cut energy demand without major structural upgrades.
He earned his PhD in Energy and Environment from the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) under the supervision of Ir Prof. Edwin Chi-Yan Tso, and now serves as Adjunct Professor in the University’s College of Business. He also sits on the HKSAR Government’s Green Technology and Finance Development Committee, and was named to Forbes China’s 30 Under 30 and the Hurun U30 China Entrepreneurship Pioneers list.
Co-founding i2Cool with Prof. Tso, Prof. Zhu has taken passive radiative cooling from lab research to commercial deployment across 30+ countries and regions, completing 500+ projects and saving over 15 million kWh of electricity to date.
