James Thompson

James Thompson is the Head of Digital at Gammon Construction and his focusses include Innovation, Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) and leading the CoE of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Gammon. James strives to improve the Hong Kong Construction industry and champions the adoption cross industry global best practice and bleeding edge technologies to improve corporate outcomes related to digital transformation and innovative corporate change.

James has more 17 years of global experience working in Hong Kong, UK and Middle East delivering BIM, PLM & GIS for public and private sector clients in construction, manufacturing, & industrial sector projects.

Personally, James is very passionate about climate change and developing the next generation to help us save and improve the environment we live in today.

My Sustainability Goals for 2023:

Digital Efficiency: Implement technology and digital tools to streamline construction processes and reduce waste. This will include adopting advanced BIM software, AI for optimization, or predictive analytics tools to anticipate and avoid inefficiencies.

Energy Efficiency: Implement digital technologies during the construction phase to improve the energy efficiency of our projects and can be used during operations and in-use phases.
