Ir Ng is currently the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Energy Services Association (HAESCO) and serves as a key contact for leading hydrogen and smart energy institutions in China. He has recently contributed to the development of draft H2 safety guidelines and legislation for the EMSD.

  • Professionally, he is a Registered Professional Engineer (HK) and a Chartered Engineer (UK). He is a Fellow Member of both the HKIE and IMechE, as well as a Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (UK).
  • With over 46 years of experience in the power and renewable energy sectors across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the Asia Pacific, he is now in a consultancy role, recently assisting a Chinese design institution with energy and environmental project development in Kenya and Australia. Additionally, he teaches energy at HK University of Science and Technology.
  • Previously, he served as the CEO of Holy Electricity Consulting, Director of Engineering and Safety at CLP Holdings, and as Executive Vice President of CLP GuoHua, along with roles as Station Manager at both Castle Peak and the Pumped Storage Power Station.
