Our sustainability goals for 2022:

  • As the first G7 country to set into law a net zero emissions target by 2050, the UK is a genuine climate pioneer.
  • Meaningful progress on this commitment is already underway, with a commitment of 78% reduction by 2035.
  • The UK is committed to remaining a leading destination for private investment. In the ‘Ten point plan for a green industrial revolution’, together with the ‘Net Zero Strategy’ and our Energy Strategy, we set out our plan to drive an unprecedented £100 billion of private sector investment by 2030.
  • This will be investment into new British industries such as offshore wind and will support around 480,000 clean jobs by the end of the decade.
  • The UK’s clean strategy estimated that the low carbon economy could grow by an estimated 11% between 2015 and 2030 – four times faster than the rest of the economy – and could delivery between £60bn and £170bn of export sales of goods and services by 2030
