Shervin Sharghy

A former investment banker turned impact entrepreneur, Shervin has dedicated himself to developing a financially viable and scalable solution to the global plastic waste crisis and reducing the environmental damage and carbon footprint of the construction industry.

Shervin founded EcoBricks in Hong Kong as a 100% circular economy solution to waste plastic that poses the ‘quadruple planetary threats’ of climate change, pollution, human health risks and biodiversity loss. By turning waste that is deemed to be worthless into high quality building materials, his vision is to demonstrate that the dividing line between waste and a valuable commodity is simply innovation.

1. Greater adoption and use of local innovations that address key sustainability targets
2. Updated regulations and standards to promote the use of sustainable solutions over legacy solutions
3. Greater allocation of investment and capital to scaling breakthrough innovations
