Workshop A
Day 2 – Friday 12 Sept
10:00 – 11:30
Corporate transition planning is gaining momentum, but ambition doesn’t always translate into execution. This interactive session will explore how board leaders and sustainability practitioners can unlock tangible progress in climate transition planning within their organizations. Hosted by Climate Governance Initiative Hong Kong (CGI HK), the session brings together insights from transition planning and transition financing experts with real-world experience. Together, we’ll explore what makes transition plans credible, actionable, and influential. Participants will engage in small-group co-creation to surface immediate, practical actions they can take to drive more robust transition planning in their spheres of influence. Aggregate insights will be shared back with the broader community via CGI HK’s channels.
Learnings

- Learn from real-life corporate examples of transition planning and execution
- Discover pathways for integrating transition planning into core business decisions
- Gain clarity on the role individuals (especially those at board level) can play in catalyzing momentum from within
Post-Event Actions
- Initiate or revisit their organization’s transition planning conversations with new insights
- Share key takeaways from the workshop with colleagues and leadership teams
- Pilot one new action (e.g. setting interim targets, reviewing financed emissions, exploring supplier transitions)
- Connect with peers or experts from the session for follow-up support or collaboration

My Sustainability Goals for 2025:
1. Reduce Microplastic Pollution
Hong Kong should aim to significantly reduce microplastic leakage into its marine and urban environments. This can include banning or phasing out microbeads in consumer products, strengthening wastewater treatment to capture microplastics, and introducing stricter regulations on plastic packaging.
2. Reduce Food Waste
Hong Kong generates over 3,000 tons of food waste daily. Possible programs include mandatory food waste separation in businesses, subsidies for food redistribution programs,. Restaurants and supermarkets can also be incentivized to donate surplus food.
3: Transition To Electric Public Transport
Hong Kong’s public transport system is efficient but transitioning buses, minibuses, and taxis to electric or hydrogen-powered vehicles could greatly reduce air pollution and carbon emissions. A target could be for public transport fleet to be 50% zero-emission in the next 10 years.

Workshop B
Day 2 – Friday 12 Sept
10:00 – 11:30
By 2030, the $13 trillion food industry could lose 10–50% of its profits due to climate change impacts on innovation, sourcing, and operations. On top of this, poor-quality data and fragmented reporting systems cost companies an average of $12.9 million annually, leaving many climate-critical decisions delayed in spreadsheets and silos. The urgency is compounded by rising regulatory pressure, from the EU’s CSRD, EUDR, and ETS, and the global demand for science-based targets (SBTi) to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050.
This workshop will demonstrate how Unibloom can transform sustainability from a compliance cost to a business growth strategy & cost-savings. Participants will learn how the platform delivers 60–100% more precise data, enabling low-risk sourcing, faster collaboration for more sustainable innovation, and real time scenario modeling across supply chains.
With clients already achieving 15% cost savings, 80% faster decision-making, and 60% better data accuracy, Unibloom provides the tools for sustainable sourcing teams, sustainable innovation and sustainability managers in producing companies and retailers, who are primarily in need for better data, smarter digital tools and productivity gains. The insights help them act confidently, protect margins, and drive sustainable innovation and move from 2 years of uncertainty and guess work to minutes of real time insights.
Learnings
- Understand how climate risks and regulatory pressures (CSRD, EUDR, EU ETS) impact profitability and investment decisions.
- Learn why data gaps, supplier silos, and generic factors slow climate action and increase costs.
- Explore how science-based targets (SBTi) provide a clear framework for credible emissions reduction and science backed investment decisions.
- See how Unibloom’s platform models initiatives, improves data precision by 60–100%, and accelerates collaboration.
- Gain investor insights into how sustainability decisions can protect margins and unlock long-term ROI.
Post-Event Actions
- Set up a demo account with Unibloom and experiment with modeling different sustainability scenarios.
- Engage with our LCA expert, Dr. Johnson K. Lau (PhD, University of Nottingham), to ask questions and gain deeper insights.
- Discover how to connect your Product Carbon Footprints (PCF) and recipes directly within the Unibloom platform to switch to lower carbon operations, cost-effectively.

A special interest in spotting corporate greenwashing and the challenges companies have around not misleading their customers or consumers all while still showing progress.
My Sustainability Goals for 2025:
For me, there is only one goal that matters and that is of course renewable electricity. Hong Kong is currently very low. It comes down to priorities within the sustainability agenda. The climate agenda is the most urgent and climate is all about energy.

Asia’s data centre industry is at a critical tipping point. Rising AI and cloud computing demands are super charging the region’s digital economy, but this has led to a problematic concern of growing emissions.
At the same time, global policy and business leaders have now made public commitments to reaching Net Zero by mid-century.
Decarbonisation requires a value-chain collective effort in which transformative solutions are needed. For data centres, it requires a closer look at its entire lifecycle from design to procurement to disposal and resource recovery.
This session explores the complex challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the next generation of data centres in light of a region’s clean energy future.
Learnings
We will explore in this session:
- Can data centres really be green?
- The current state of Asia’s data centres from a sustainability perspective
- Critical challenges and opportunities in the region in sourcing clean energy and managing emissions within the industry
