New Life Plastics is the largest food-grade ready plastics recycling facility in Hong Kong. We focus on the processing of Hong Kong’s PET beverage bottles to food-grade ready rPET flakes, which are mainly supplied to beverage manufacturers, closing the “bottle-to-bottle” loop. Through advanced industry-leading technology, we provide a sustainable solution to Hong Kong’s plastic bottle usage, fostering a circular economy for PET bottles.
As an integrated partner in the value chain with the Hong Kong government, beverage producers to final consumers, through recycle, reborn and rebottle, our vision is to be the catalyst for change in Hong Kong’s plastic bottle circular economy. Opting for recycled plastic bottles offers enhanced energy efficiency compared to producing new PET bottles. By committing to recycling, we not only conserve valuable resources but also contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Our sustainability goals for 2025:

1. Advocate for Environmental Protection Department (EPD) and Legislative Changes on Producer Responsibility Scheme on Plastic Beverage Containers and Beverage Cartons (PCPRS):
– Actively engage with the EPD and legislative bodies to influence policies related to the PCPRS.
– Work towards advancing certification and reporting standards to ensure transparency and accountability in plastic waste management.
– Utilize organized tours and targeted social media campaigns to engage the community and stakeholders, raising awareness about the importance of recycling and legislative support.

2. Complete ISO 14064 Assessment and Audit:
– Finalize the ISO 14064 assessment, which focuses on quantifying greenhouse gas emissions and removals.
– Ensure the successful completion of the audit process, validating our commitment to environmental sustainability and compliance with international standards.
– Use the findings from the assessment and audit to identify areas for improvement and to inform future environmental strategies.

3. Develop Internal Reporting on Energy, Waste, and Water:
– Create comprehensive reports detailing internal energy usage, waste management practices, and water consumption metrics.
– Analyze current data to identify trends and areas where efficiency can be improved, contributing to overall sustainability efforts.
– Establish specific, measurable targets for improvement in energy consumption, waste reduction, and water usage, ensuring alignment with broader corporate sustainability goals.
– Regularly review and update these targets to reflect progress and adapt to changing environmental standards and practices.
