Manager, Sustainability and Shared Value
Crystal Lai is a philanthropy and social impact advisor with over seven years of experience in grantmaking, strategic giving, impact measurement and ecosystem building across foundations, corporates and NGOs in Hong Kong and internationally. She leads SEWIT Consultancy, Nan Fung Group’s impact advisory practice, where she advises institutional clients and family offices on funding strategies, impact frameworks, and organisational change.
As a Manager at Nan Fun Group, Crystal also shapes the Group’s social value strategy and leads its work to measure and disclose social value. Nan Fung was the first company in Hong Kong to set a HK$100 million social-value target by 2030; in 2024/25, the Group generated or facilitated HK$86.3 million cumulatively.
Prior to joining Nan Fung Group, Crystal worked at a leading Hong Kong charitable trust, managing a diverse portfolio spanning arts and culture, elderly services, youth development and education.
Crystal is an Accredited Social Value Associate and a regular speaker and facilitator on strategic philanthropy and social value. She is particularly interested in helping organisations move beyond activity-based reporting to understand, manage and communicate the outcomes that matter most to people and communities.
At ReThink HK 2026, Crystal will host “Quantifying What Matters: SROI 101”, introducing participants to the fundamentals of Social Return on Investment and practical approaches to articulating, measuring and using social value in decision-making.
