Prof. Shauhrat S. Chopra

I am an Associate Professor in the School of Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong, specializing in urban sustainability, climate resilience, and environmental decision-making. My research develops data-driven approaches to help cities, governments, and industries navigate the complex trade-offs and synergies between climate adaptation, decarbonization, and sustainable development.Since joining CityU in 2018, I have built a research programme focused on measuring and improving the sustainability and resilience of the built environment. My work supports evidence-based strategies for creating more sustainable, low-carbon, and climate-resilient communities in Hong Kong and globally. Recognized among the world’s top 2% of scientists by Stanford University in 2023, I am passionate about bridging research, policy, and practice to address pressing environmental challenges.
