Joshua Wong

Joshua Wong is a sustainability professional with over a decade of experience in the luxury hospitality and property sectors. At The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels and a portfolio of luxury commercial properties, clubs and services, he works with colleagues across the organisation to help integrate sustainability considerations into business strategy and decision-making.

Working closely with the Board, C-suite executives and business leaders, Joshua helps shape and advance the Group’s sustainability strategy, embedding responsible business practices into decision-making across the organisation. His areas of focus include sustainable finance, decarbonisation, sustainable hotel development, responsible supply chains and community investment, ensuring sustainability supports both business resilience and long-term value creation.

In addition to supporting strategic priorities, he works closely with operational teams to embed responsible practices across the business and foster employee engagement, helping build a culture where sustainability is understood, embraced and put into action.

My Sustainability Goals for 2026:

1. Accelerate commercially viable sustainability innovation through stronger subsidies and incentives that help emerging technologies scale and gain market adoption.
2. More evidence-based conversations with business leaders demonstrating how it creates commercial value, strengthens resilience and supports long-term growth, rather than relying solely on personal passion or belief.
