Reimaging the City with Zero-Carbon-Ready

Grace is the Chairman and Executive Director of Allied Sustainability and Environmental Consultants Group Limited as well as the Chief Sustainability Strategist of AEC Capital. She is currently the Chairman of the HKSAR Environmental Campaign Committee, member of the Advisory Council on the Environment and the Energy Advisory Committee, and serves on the board and/or committees of various public and professional bodies, including HKIQEP, HKGFA, GRESB, USGBC, IWBI and CRREM. She is a Board Director of the Hong Kong Green Building Council and World Green Building Council. Grace also is the recipient of various local and international awards, including HKMA Sustainability Leader of the Year 2021, APEC Bio-Circular-Green Award 2023, WorldGBC Asia Pacific Leadership in Green Building Awards 2024 – Women in Green Building Leadership.

Grace has been involved in many green building and sustainable design projects in Hong Kong, China and across Asia-Pacific, acquiring vast professional experiences and regional insights. With a background in environmental engineering, she is a keen advocate for regenerative sustainability. Driven by a vision to shape a sustainable future for all, Grace facilitates collaboration through her work with environmental, building and construction, and finance sectors to build climate resilience and accelerate net-zero transition. With AEC Group’s expanding operations in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and Dubai, Grace is utilizing her experiences in bridging finance and sustainability through her extensive network to create impact at scale and drive transformative change.

Andy Yeung is Director and Head of Technical Services of Hongkong Land. He joined Hongkong Land in 2010 and is responsible for technical services management and green building management for the Group.

Mr Yeung is a Chartered Engineer with more than 30-years of experience in project management, technical services, energy management, sustainability management, and green building management. Before joining Hongkong Land, Mr Yeung worked for Hysan, where he was a Head of Technical Services. Before that, he was a Technical Manager at MTR Corporation.

Mr Yeung graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

I would like to see all stakeholders in the Real Estate Industry working together to reduce electricity consumption and carbon footprint of buildings driving towards the carbon neutral target.

Founded Active Energy Management in Hong Kong in 2000, with whole career supporting high-calibre energy-conscious clients in demanding sectors (Defence, Clean Rooms, Data Centres, Aerospace, Consumer Electronics, Incinerators, Hotels, Leisure, Garments and Textiles) in UK, HK, PRC & APAC.
A passionate pioneer of lifecycle-focused energy minimization, from new-build conception to re-purposing – developed heat recovery in UK Government Veterinary incinerators, founded Shetland Energy Unit, represented Shetland at EU Energy Exchange events, modelled Shetland’s District Heating Scheme (SHEEP). Former Group Technical Director for RESET Carbon, established world-leading high efficiency industrial lighting manufacturing venture, supports an organic Nepalese coffee plantation and sits on BEC Sustainability Working Groups.
Leads AEM’s Energy, Carbon & Sustainability-focused consulting, including, landfill gas waste to energy modelling, recently developing PV improvement for ZC Park, and CxA / RCx / MBCx roles in Hong Kong + pan-Asia. Has lectured to MSc Level at H.K. City University, Energy Auditing / Technical Advisor to the CE 100 Hong Kong Group and Hong Kong Association of Solar Industry for 2022-23.

My Sustainability Goals for 2024:

1. Minimize Carbon Emissions: Quantifying our existing impact, including cumulative value of improvements both achieved and feasible within our client base if following our advice and audit findings. .
2. Waste Reduction and Recycling: Embracing the circular economy concept to minimize waste and maximize recycling by 50% by 2030.
3. Educate Customers: Communicating our sustainability policies clearly and transparently to clients to educate them on our commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

Etienne has been working in the construction industry for more than 15 years. First as a structural designer in France on landmark projects, he joined the Bouygues group with Dragages in Macau in 2014. Etienne developed structural and construction strategies for complex projects in Macau, Singapore and Manila, using advanced modelling in BIM and parametric design.
He settled in 2018 in Hong Kong to focus on tenders, working to deliver innovative solutions to an ambitious range of projects.
As Head of Digital, Innovation and Transformation of Dragages Hong Kong since 2021, Etienne is leading a profound a rapid change towards simple and intelligent solutions on sites, for safer, greener, more effective construction.
