Pranati Kirupakaran

Pranati is an penultimate year Economics student, also pursuing a minor in sustainability, looking work within the field of Sustainable finance.

Through her capacity at NESS she has hosted a public policy workshop at HKU during Hong Kong Climate Emergency Summit 2024 and also a skills-building and networking session in collaboration with LinkedIn. Her involvement within NESS spans through many more of NESS’ educational and community building events as well – she is passionate about bridging the gap between youth, corporates and governments to further our environmental pursuits.

My sustainability goals for 2024:

1. Increased issuance of Sustainability Linked Loans and Bonds by financial institutions and corporates to finance their transition plans to Net-zero
2. Gaining momentum in the clean energy realm following Hong Kong’s first hydrogen-powered double-decker bus.
3. An effective and educational roll-out of the waste management scheme to limit the use of single use plastics and their harmful effects
