SGS Supports the Development of Hong Kong’s First Offshore Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal to Achieve Decarbonization Goal

In response to the Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2030+, both CLP Power and HK Electric, our local power companies, have gradually increased the use of natural gas for power generation to lower the carbon emissions. The first Hong Kong offshore Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) terminal, jointly developed by the two power companies, to receive, store, and regasify LNG is expected to go into operation soon.

We are honored to participate in this project to decarbonise the power sector. Our professional global and local experts work together to accurately calculate the heat value (heat value is the value of LNG), enable to provide trustable data for buyers and sellers with common ground. And our 24-hour laboratory conducts ingredient testing for customers day and night, in order to fulfill our service commitment to customers.

SGS will continue to provide sustainability solutions to facilitate enterprises achieving global carbon neutrality before 2050.
