Supply Chains & Logistics Stage

Initiating an ESG Transformation of SMEs in the Logistic Sector

12 Sep (Fri) Day 2 : 13:00 – 13:40

Sustainability is a growing international trend for all industries with ESG as core components. The impact of ESG is especially relevant to the trading and logistics sector due to its intrinsically international nature of business. While listed and large logistic companies have already taken the lead to incorporate ESG into their strategic positioning and business operations, logistic SMEs appear to be slow in action. The pressure for addressing supply chain ESG with Scope 3 emissions as the focal issue has been rapidly built up immediately after the conclusion of COP29 on climate change. With the Transport and Logistic Bureau of The Hong Kong SAR Government taken the leading role to inaugurate logistics SMEs’ ESG transformation, this session will examine TLB’s ESG roadmap and deliberate the course of action to put logistics SMEs effectively on this ESG roadmap.
