Dr. Syafrina Sharif

Dr. Syafrina Sharif is an international sustainability expert and strategist with extensive global experience. She has established and spearheaded the corporate sustainability endeavours of multinational companies across diverse regions and industries, including engineering & construction, biotechnology and currently airport hospitality. She holds a PhD in Environmental Governance & Democracy from Imperial College London, and an International Master’s degree in Sustainable Development & Corporate Responsibility from EOI Business School, Madrid. Dr. Syafrina has also been active in advocating for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB), such as through championing women’s empowerment and fostering an inclusive workplace culture. She is the Founder & CEO of TerraLestar International, which specializes in providing tailored ESG and Sustainability training, advisory and consultancy services that support businesses in leveraging sustainability towards long-term value creation. She was featured in Prestige magazine’s Women of Power 2023 as a trailblazer and has contributed to the development of Malaysia’s National Planetary Health Action Plan. As Global Head of ESG & Sustainability, and now Global ESG & Sustainability Advisor at Plaza Premium Group, Dr. Syafrina harnesses her passion in sustainability towards making travel better.

My Sustainability Goals for 2025:

1. Make better efforts to practice and promote good health and wellbeing, such as through adopting a more plant-based diet and prioritizing mental health.
2. Continuously enhance my knowledge on sustainability and share my experiences with others, especially the youth and the next generation of leaders.
3. Leverage my purchasing power to support sustainable brands and products.
