Ir Gordon Ng

Ir Gordon NG is the Technical Secretary of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department. He offers support to the Director to oversee all corresponding initiatives on promoting electrical and mechanical safety and energy efficiency to the public.

Ir NG has been working in the government for over 15 years and taken up professional roles in the areas of engineering services, project management, business development as well as regulatory enforcement. Ir NG received his Bachelor of Engineering degree and Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong. He has also obtained his MBA degree from the City University of Hong Kong.

Ir NG is a corporate member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM). Apart from being the committee member of HKIE Gas and Energy Division, he is now serving as the Honorary Secretary of HKIE Gas Discipline Advisory Panel and IGEM Far East District Section.

My Sustainability Goals for 2025:

Establish a robust regulatory framework for a safe and sustainable electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, with objective to move beyond initial support for the entire EV maintenance industry, ensuring safety, environmental protection, and high professional standards.

Accelerate the hydrogen economy through strategic infrastructure piloting, with objective to transit from promoting hydrogen development to actively facilitating the commercial-scale hydrogen applications in various sectors.
