Leona Cheung

Leona Cheung serves over 17 years of experiences in elderly services sectors from residential care service to community care support levels, from healthy ageing populations at Elderly Neighborhood Centers to frail age populations at Home Support services, Day Care Center for the Elderly and Residential Care Home for the Elderly. She is now District Service Manager at the New Territories District and provides supervision on day care centers for the Elderly services and a caregiver support project. Leona embraces the value of respect and social inclusion towards the seniors and advocates intergenerational collaborations of stakeholders in the community. She also treasures the establishment of active volunteering work in a community level and participated projects in Time Bank volunteering system and for early retired seniors at agency level. In recent years, Leona is actively participating in carers training and support projects to walk hands in hands with carers to better support an age friendly city in Hong Kong.

My Sustainability Goals for 2025:

1.  Strengthen the intergenerational volunteering work for frail seniors at Day Care Center for the Elderly in a new developed community;
2. Support the working carers at agency level by applying agency family friendly policy;
3. Better utilization on the gerontechnology products for enhancing staff occupational health safety, social participation and promoting rehabilitation for the frail seniors.
