Mr Ralph Xu is now the Head, Green Transportation at Centre of Advanced Power and Autonomous Systems (APAS), Hong Kong Productivity Council(HKPC). He joined HKPC with his solid background of automotive industry and electric vehicle development. He has been working in automotive industry for 18 years, with profound experience in R&D, manufacturing and quality control.

Mr Xu obtained bachelor’s degree of engineering in Shanghai Jiao Tong University and started his career in automotive industry as quality engineer in Honda’s local joint venture. He is equipped with broad knowledge of vehicle engineering, component design and development, and good understanding of automotive suppliers. Along with the booming of EV market, he started the EV development career in DENZA, the joint venture of Daimler and BYD from 2011. Throughout 10 years, as R&D manager, he participated in the development of 4 BEV and 1 PHEV models. He has vast experience on EV project planning, product development, testing and validation. He provides a unique insight of NEV industry with the knowledge of electric vehicle integration, HV system and EV testing. He is now responsible for R&D projects in APAS focusing on new energy transportation including EV and hydrogen energy technology.
