Tommy Cheng

I am an Assistant Project Manager at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Hong Kong, specialising in air-conditioning solutions. My focus covers residential systems, commercial VRF systems, water-cooled centrifugal chillers and the Q-ton air-to-water heat pump, with expertise in energy-efficient and low-GWP technologies.

I support the introduction of advanced cooling and heating systems that align with both MHI’s 2040 Carbon Neutrality Declaration and Hong Kong’s commitment to achieve carbon neutrality before 2050. Emphasis is placed on building energy efficiency, low-GWP refrigerants including R32, R744 (CO₂), R1233zd and R1234ze, and applications for the Northern Metropolis.

At ReThink HK 2026, I will present “Carbon Neutrality from Air with MHI HVAC Solutions”, examining how MHI’s sustainable air-conditioning and heat-pump technologies can contribute to deeper decarbonisation in Hong Kong’s built environment.
