Swire Pacific has become an adopter of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), as one of Hong Kong’s nine adopters. The TNFD is designed to help organisations to report and manage nature-related risks and opportunities. It seeks to provide decision-relevant information to investors and stakeholders to support a shift in global financial flows towards nature-positive outcomes, which is in line with the goals of the United Nation’s Kunming-Montreal Gobal Biodiversity Framework. Starting from the 2024 financial year, the company will report on nature-related issues in line with TNFD’s framework.
Recognising the importance of biodiversity in maintaining a resilient natural environment vital to the sustainable development of the company, Swire Pacific established a Biodiversity Policy in 2018, which aims to incorporate biodiversity considerations into its operations. Its 2030 and 2050 commitments leading to Net Zero Emissions, Zero to Landfill, and Water Neutrality all play key roles in halting and reversing the loss of biodiversity.
Swire Pacific will continue to promote transparency and accountability through corporate sustainability reporting efforts, including its ongoing support for Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and other global disclosure initiatives.
