Prof. Hung has a strong interest in the research of GBA collaboration, national development, technological innovation, and youth affairs. A seasoned ICT professional and angel investor. He is the Executive Chairman of the Chinese Big Data Society, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Industry University Research Collaboration Association, the Monte Jade Science and Technology Association of Hong Kong, and he is one of the Global Council Members of the World Summit Awards, an initiative within the framework of UN WSIS. He is also an Independent Non-executive Director of several companies listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Her unique blend of academic rigor and hands-on experience—gained through work in universities, NGOs, and policy think tanks—spans critical areas such as air quality, climate mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity conservation, urban planning, and sustainable forestry supply chains. Michelle has been pivotal in advancing evidence-based policymaking in Hong Kong and the region, reflecting her deep commitment to effective environmental governance.
Currently, she is at the forefront of efforts to facilitate market compliance with the EU Deforestation-Free Regulation (EUDR) in the region, a vital initiative aimed at combating climate change and safeguarding biodiversity. Additionally, Michelle is promoting responsible forestry in Asia-Pacific countries through innovative market solutions, including consumer awareness campaigns, smallholder incentivization schemes, and ecosystem services enhancement projects, all while aligning economic practices with environmental stewardship.
