What happens when organizations move beyond standard employee support to address working caregivers directly? In 2025, 20 companies took part in Agewhale’s Workplace Caregiver Support Pilot Program. Supported by the HKEX Foundation, the programme returns in 2026 to address a growing challenge across Hong Kong’s workforce. As the population ages, a rising number of employees are managing both career and elder care responsibilities. Many do so in silence.
The programme delivers three targeted interventions. Caregiver sharing and volunteering sessions build empathy and awareness across teams. Manager training equips leaders to support employees with caregiving responsibilities. Workplace assessments identify gaps and shape lasting cultural change.
Feedback from participating companies has been strong. Participants describe the sessions as relevant and practical across roles and industries. Onsite one-on-one consultations, led by registered social workers, offer personalized guidance employees can act on immediately. Organizations are also reporting stronger team connections, reduced stigma around caregiving, and more open conversations about work-life challenges.
As Hong Kong’s workforce evolves, supporting caregivers is no longer a peripheral concern. It is a strategic investment in resilience, retention, and workplace inclusion.
Agewhale is now inviting forward-thinking organizations to join the next phase. To learn more, contact us at hello@agewhale.com.
