Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association (HKECIA)
HKECIA was established in 1990 to promote Hong Kong as a world-class exhibition and conference destination and the trade fair capital of Asia Pacific. It works to represent the interests of all members involved in the exhibition and convention industries, and provides a unified voice in dealing with the government, legislative statutory bodies, the media and public organisations.
Our sustainability goals for 2026:
- HKECIA has developed the HKECIA Sustainability Charter. It is a ten-point charter which sets out the principles for HKECIA members to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability, and set an example for other businesses to follow. It also helps to create a culture of sustainability within the exhibition industry in Hong Kong, which can ultimately lead to a more sustainable future for all.
- HKECIA endorsed the Better Stands programme, uniting with global industry leaders to promote sustainable exhibition practices in Hong Kong and beyond. Better Stands is a collaboration across the events and exhibition industry to transition to the use of reusable stands. It has been designed to be used by the whole of the event industry, including organisers, contractors, assessors, venues and associations.
- HKECIA holds a strong commitment towards sustainability development. The Sustainability and Operations Sub-committee is identifying and measuring initiatives which target the reduction of waste and the reusing of materials for the industry.
