The EY Global Environment Strategy for FY30 lays out a decisive, science-aligned plan for climate and nature. With a long-term ambition to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its value chain by FY50, EY has set a critical near-term target: halving its absolute GHG emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 by FY30, using FY19 as a baseline.
This strategy adopts an “all-of-environment” approach, moving beyond climate to fully integrate nature. Key areas of focus include advancing water, waste, and pollution management, as well as fostering greater collaboration across EY value chain. The plan is supported by robust governance to ensure accountability and remains responsive to the evolving regulatory and economic landscape.
EY’s commitment to renewable electricity is a cornerstone of this transition, with a goal to reach 100% active annual sourcing by FY25 and maintain it through FY30. Supplementing its decarbonization efforts, EY will also leverage high-quality carbon offsets, guided by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market standards.
The impact of this strategy is designed to extend far beyond EY’s own operations. EY drives sustainability across three dimensions: managing its environmental footprint, building capacity and convening key stakeholders, and advancing global progress by supporting EY clients in their own transitions. Through this comprehensive plan, EY aims to translate ambition into tangible action, helping to underpin a stable, affordable, and equitable future for business, people, and the planet.
