Hong Kong Institution of Highways and Transportation

Hong Kong Institution of Highways and Transportation (HKIHT) was formally established by the Founding President the late Mr. H. S. Kwong in 1999. Since then, HKIHT has become a learned society comprising professional practitioners and academics from highway engineering and transportation fields of Hong Kong S.A.R., which has strong connection with fellow organizations in Mainland China and Macao.

Our sustainability goals for 2026:

1. Technical, Event and Publicity – strengthen professional expertise, prepare and coordinate technical papers; communicate with media and stakeholders to enhance social status.
2. Greater China Relations – organize and coordinate with counter-parts for delegation visits and conferences.
3. Young Member Engagement – engage the young through personal development and technical guidance by experience sharing and peer learning.
4. Membership – review membership structure, qualifications and evaluate membership application.
