Committee Member

Ms. Doris Poon is a dedicated voluntary committee member of the “Sowers Action Challenge 12 Hour Charity Marathon” Event, driven by a deep love for Hong Kong’s natural landscapes and a strong commitment to protecting rural environments. As an avid trail runner and hiker, she has developed a profound connection with the countryside and strives to promote ecological awareness and sustainable outdoor practices through her involvement in the event.

Passionate about preserving the beauty and integrity of Hong Kong’s trails and natural habitats, Doris actively supports initiatives that minimize environmental impact and encourage participants to engage responsibly with nature. She believes in the power of outdoor activities to inspire greater appreciation for the environment and motivate collective action toward conservation.

Through her role in the charity marathon, Doris helps raise funds and awareness for programs that benefit both underprivileged communities and environmental causes—ensuring that the event not only challenges participants physically but also contributes positively to the rural spaces they enjoy.

Her energetic and heartfelt dedication continues to inspire others to explore, respect, and protect the natural world.

My Sustainability Goals for 2025:

  1. Champion Green Event Practices Implement and promote environmentally friendly management for the Challenging 12 Hours Charity Trail Marathon. This commitment includes reducing waste, boosting recycling rates, encouraging reusable materials, and integrating sustainable resources throughout the event.
  2. Forge NGO Partnerships for Robust Sustainability Policies Strengthen collaborations with environmental non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to overhaul our recycling systems, establish clear sustainability guidelines, and launch tangible green initiatives that preserve natural spaces and promote eco-conscious behavior.
