Shaun Martin

Shaun is a Senior Project Manager for WWF Asia-Pacific Counter-Illegal Wildlife Trade Hub based at WWF Hong Kong. He originally joined WWF Hong Kong in 2019 as part of the Education Department and has been working with the HUB since 2021.

The HUB explores partnerships and technological solutions to disrupt the Illegal Wildlife Trade and Shaun currently supervises the Cybercrime and One Health workstreams. Many of Shaun’s projects explore Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning systems and are pioneering solutions to monitor the Illegal wildlife trade online and monitor locations of zoonotic emergence risk in the Mekong region. He also represents the HUB in the United Nations University Global AI Network.

Previously, Shaun has worked with Civic Exchange and is a National Geographic Explorer. He holds an MSc Environmental Science from the University of Hong Kong and an BSc Environmental Science from The University of Plymouth, UK.
