Lawrence Iu is Executive Director at Civic Exchange. As a professional environmental strategist, he has profound experience in crafting climate change models and impactful public policies. His current focuses are on policy action in Energy, Building Energy Efficiency and Mobility. He has successfully built a platform with public, corporate and government stakeholders to craft an inclusive transition plan with strong buy-in.
In his previous roles in a multinational corporation and a higher institution, Lawrence led environmental sustainability and occupational health & safety projects across Asia Pacific and coordinated emerging technology management, circular economy and green chemistry research.

Despite these difficult times, we must remain forward looking and anticipate the time of recovery. Even more so, we are now in a favourable position to make fundamental policy decisions to rethink our economic model, making it fit for a low carbon missions world, and to set course for a better, sustainable, and more liveable future for Hong Kong.

He is also a member of the company’s ESG Task Force and Risk Management Task Force, both of which oversee sustainability initiatives and progress.

Hong Kong remains at the forefront of ‘getting business done’ and this helps to provide a living the city’s residents. Transitioning to greater sustainability, in all areas of life (and work), needs to consider this human factor … I hope to see more thought and planning on balancing demands and making the transition … sustainable.

He is currently the Head of E-Mobility Business at Shell Hong Kong, where he plays a key role in leading the energy transition, unlocking the future of mobility, and connecting communities in a cleaner way. Under his leadership, Shell Recharge has become one of the fastest-growing public EV charging networks in Hong Kong, with over 55 stations and 550+ charging points. Kenneth spearheaded the launch of the city’s fastest 300kW charger in Tsim Sha Tsui and forged strategic partnerships with major property developers. Being a strategic innovator, he always creates industry-first offers and initiatives to keep the company ahead of the game.

Gill Meller is MTR Corporation Limited’s Legal & Governance Director. She is responsible for leading the Company’s environmental, social and governance initiatives and for overseeing the Company’s legal, company secretarial, insurance, risk and assurance management and procurement and supply chain functions.
Gill is qualified to practise as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England and Wales. She graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Geography from Hertford College, the University of Oxford and obtained her postgraduate qualifications in law from The College of Law in the United Kingdom. She is the chair of the Legal Committee of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and an independent director of Hong Kong, China Rugby. She is also a representative of the China/Hong Kong Division on and President of the Council of the international Chartered Governance Institute.
