To explore how workforce transformation can be advanced as a force for social good, this session will discuss how education, entrepreneurship, technology, and cross-sector collaboration can better prepare people for a rapidly changing world of work. As AI and emerging innovations reshape skills demand, tertiary education must move beyond traditional knowledge delivery to develop adaptive, responsible, and socially minded talent.

Participants will gain insights into how educators, entrepreneurs, businesses, and NGOs can work together to strengthen workforce readiness, inclusion, and lifelong learning. The discussion will also highlight how future talent development can address not only organisational needs, but also broader social challenges, ensuring that individuals and communities are equipped to thrive in an evolving economy.

Dr. Fred Ku, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Studies) at CUHK Business School, is an accomplished scholar and award-winning educator in fields of business economics, social values and ESG. He is also the founder and director of CUHK BESGO Programme, which aims to cultivate social mindset of budding business leaders and proactively drive cross-sector collaboration to co-create greater social good. Besides, Dr. Ku provides training and consultancy services to businesses and government agencies.

My sustainability goals for 2026:

I aspire to see Hong Kong nurturing socially conscious leaders, and businesses prioritizing social value alongside economic profit, ultimately fostering a sustainable and inclusive society.

Ellis Ku Wai Kin is the Chief Learning & Development Manager at MTR Corporation, leading initiatives in workforce capability development, talent and leadership development, and supporting organizational transformation. He works closely with business leaders to shape learning strategies that strengthen organizational effectiveness, support sustainable business growth, and prepare employees for future challenges. His work spans leadership development, culture and capability building, digital and AI literacy, and workforce reskilling initiatives. With broad experience in learning, talent, organizational development, culture transformation, and operational leadership, Ellis advocates lifelong learning as a key driver of workforce resilience, social inclusion, and sustainable economic development.

Dr. Rosette Leung is a Lecturer in the Department of Marketing at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School. She teaches various courses, including Marketing Management, Global Marketing Management, Buyer Behaviour, Digital Marketing, and Integrated Marketing Communication. Her research interests span multiple areas, from social media marketing to internet-based relationships.

My Sustainability Goals for 2026:

My sustainability goals are to inspire and equip the next generation with the knowledge, skills, and determination to make sustainable choices and become leaders on fostering a more sustainable future. In addition to my commitment in business case writing about sustainability, innovation and climate change, I hope I can engage in more collaborative efforts with organizations and academics for sharing knowledge and best practices in sustainability.

Ken Liu

Executive Director, Head of Greater China Energy Transition and Renewables Research

Ken Liu is an Executive Director in UBS Global Research, where he serves as sector head for Energy Transition and leads the department’s AI transformation — placing him at the forefront of how artificial intelligence is reshaping both markets and the way research teams work.

Beyond his corporate role, Ken is the founder of QLI Impact, a civic organisation that reimagines the conventional way of doing good by turning acts of kindness into something genuinely fun. In its first year, QLI has grown a community of 50 student members and continues to expand, with AI adopted widely across the organisation.

Ken also volunteers with Asian Charity Services and Dream2Story. Outside work, he enjoys volleyball and is learning basic Japanese.
